“Education is for improving the lives of others and for leaving your community and world better than you found it.“ – Marian Wright Edelman
A good education is a foundation for a better future. Children, who are the mainstay of a country, must be endowed with the best set of knowledge and guidance for a flourishing society. As a youth of the country, we deem it as our responsibility to provide the children with the best educational support.
Why It Is Needed
Despite a decent educational system, children in a developing country like India are face problems due to the scarcity of necessary e-learning resources. Moreover, in the wake of the Corona pandemic, where the students are the worst affected, it becomes all the more important to reach out and provide children with quality study materials.
-The lockdowns and closure of schools have hampered the continuity of learning for more than 285 million young learners in India. (Survey by Economic Times)
-Only 23.8 percent of Indian households had internet access. (2017-18 National Sample Survey)
-In rural households (66 percent of the population), only 14.9 percent had access, and in urban households only 42 percent had access. (2017-18 National Sample Survey)
-The major challenge in EDTech reforms at the national level is the seamless integration of technology in the present Indian education system, with more than 15 lakh schools and 50,000 higher education institutions. (NSS 2017-18)
How we do it
Project BODH aims at providing the best education to underprivileged children and children in shelter homes and Child Care Centers (CCIs) beyond the reach of HOPE. We collaborate with organizations and CCIs and provide them with educational videos as taught by our volunteers. We intend to spread knowledge to the children belonging to the most intricate parts of the society.
